PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of measurement by providing the weight measuring means of soil and sand excavated by a shield machine, the specific-gravity measuring means of soil and sand and a means arithmetically operating excavated volume on the basis of weight and specific gravity measured. SOLUTION: The weight W1 of excavated soil and sand discharged by a screw conveyor from a chamber is measured by a carried-out soil-sand weight measuring section 100, and output to a discharged-soil quantity control section 130. A mud-additive measuring section 110 measures the quantity of a mud additive injected W2 injected into the chamber and outputs it to the control section 130, and an apparent specific- gravity measuring section 120 measures the specific gravityσof excavated soil and sand and outs it to the control section 130. The control section 130 subtracts the quantity of the mud additive injected W2 from the carried-out soil-sand weight W1 and arithmetically operates carried-out soil-sand actual weight W while cumulating specific gravityσto actual weight W and arithmetically operates excavated volume V, and outputs the excavated volume V to a data output section 140 and an excavation control section 150. The control section 150 controls the speed of excavation, etc. Accordingly, the accuracy of measurement can be improved, and this device can be simplified.
