FIELD: microwave ovens for food cooking or heating. SUBSTANCE: device has heating chamber, two sections of variable wave impedance shielded strip lines abutting against heating chamber, exciter transmitting energy from microwave oscillator to heating chamber. Exciter has two homogeneous strip lines and two symmetrical units whose asymmetric outputs are connected to coaxial leads of microwave oscillator. Product is placed in heating chamber on insulating stay placed above open ends of nonhomogeneous strip lines. Geometry of varying wave impedance strip lines is chosen so that for large quantity of products placed in heating chamber the standing-wave ratio does not exceed 2. Dimensions of sections of shielded strip lines are as follows: cross- sectional area (0,15-0,3)λ× (0,15-0,3)λ,, where λ is wavelength; transverse dimensions of heating chamber equal those of mentioned sections or are greater by maximum 0,05λ; heating chamber height may be from 0,2λ to 0,8λ.
