FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of camphene with low molecular weight carboxylic acid, acid ion exchanger being used as catalyst. Reagents are passed from the bottom of reactor through acid ion exchanger which is disposed in tubular reactor and uniformly fills it. If isobornyl acetate is prepared then high specific efficiency of said catalyst, high selectivity of reaction while small amounts of side esters are produced, high degree of conversion of components of the reaction (being in deficiency) and high total efficiency of catalyst are achieved. EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method.
