FIELD: laser engineering; power laser installations, laser chemistry, laser medicine, metallurgy, miscellaneous laser processes on the ground and in space. SUBSTANCE: laser has active-medium chamber with wall transparent to pumping radiation and chamber optically coupled with solar concentrator whose wall is made of solar radiation absorbing material; chambers are formed by walls made in the form of coaxial cylindrical surfaces placed in a spaced relation; outer surface of external wall of active-medium chamber is made of material reflecting pumping radiation; inner wall of this chamber is made of material transparent for pumping radiation; chamber optically coupled with solar concentrator is placed inside active-medium chamber; inner surface of chamber optically coupled with solar concentrator is made of material absorbing sun rays and its outer surface is made of material emitting heat radiation. Laser can operate at concentration of sun rays (ξ = 10,) in active medium operating temperature range at optimal pumping. EFFECT: improved efficiency, enlarged functional capabilities. |
