Known filters have a filter element held in a housing by compressing the edge of the filter element. In the present invention, a filter has a series of porous, compr essible filter elements sealed at their outer edge by a collar of silicone rubber that is flowe d into the filter elements. The collar seals with an annular recess around the inside of the filte r housing so that flow through the housing is confined to the filter elements without any com pression of them.
