PROCESS FOR ADJUSTING THE LOAD OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, IN PARTICULAR FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

In the air supply unit of an internal combustion engine, pulsations occur at low and medium engine speeds which falsify the output signal of an air mass measuring device. In the disclosed process, the opening angle of a throttle valve (8) that may be adjusted by an electric motor is limited to an engine speed-dependent opening value (OW) which contains an opening basis value (OBW) that lies between a lower and an upper limit value. At the lower limit value, engine full load is reached, and even at the upper limit value, no air pulsations occur yet in the suction channel (7) upstream of the throttle valve (8).
