The wave conversion device receives microwave signals entering from a waveguide connected to a housing, the axis of the waveguide being perpendicular to the plane of the housing. A metal pin has one end extending into the waveguide and the other connecting to a circuit board within the housing. The circuit board receives a first component of the microwave signals from the metal pin. A printed pin, with one end perpendicular to the metal pin, extends into the waveguide and connects to the circuit board at the other end. The circuit board receives a second component of the microwave signals from the printed pin. The printed pin is formed from a section of printed circuit on the side opposite the waveguide and is surrounded by, but does not intersect with a circular strip of soldered surface with small through holes on the circuit board. On the other side of the circuit board is a wire connection within a radius of the circular strip, acting as a back short plane for the metal pin. A metal cover , the bottom of which is the back short plane, the circumference of the metal cover, the circular strip of soldered surface and the waveguide form a closed end of the cylindrical waveguide.
