RUBBER COMPOSITION COMPRISING HIGHLY SATURATED NITRILE COPOLYMER RUBBER AND ETHYLENE- alpha -OLEFIN COPOLYMER RUBBER

A vulcanizable rubber composition comprising a highly saturated nitrile copolymer rubber prepared by hydrogenating the conjugated diene moieties of an unsaturated nitrile-conjugated diene-unsaturated dicarboxylic ester (preferably a dialkyl ester of an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid) copolymer, an ethylene- alpha -olefin copolymer rubber (preferably an ethylene- alpha -olefin-nonconjugated diene copolymer rubber), and an organic peroxide vulcanizing agent. The product of vulcanization of this composition exhibits excellent and well-balanced cold, oil and weathering resistances and is improved in heat resistance and compression set, so that it is useful for rubber-made parts which come into contact with various oils or gases and are required to be resistant to cold and oils.
