The sectional elements of a metallic partition are for the fixing of a flat element (14) onto a frame (5). It consists of a sectioned fixing caisson (20) for mounting on the frame. The caisson has a U shaped throat (21) to receive the sheet of the flat element (14), e.g. a sheet of glass. The sheet of glass is held in place with a sealing gasket (22). A cut-out (20) is provided in the fixing caisson for the insertion of a fixing element (16) consisting of a screw (41) and operated from the interior side of the frame.
