An acoustooptical filter (4) having an acoustic wave driver (42), a piezoelectric transducer (43) and an acoustooptical crystal (41) is disposed in front of a light source portion (2) having a plurality of optical sources (2A, 2B, ..., 2N) having different wavelength characteristics, and the frequency of a radio signal generated by the acoustic wave driver (42) is changed in accordance with the wavelength which is desired to be selected. Light of the selected wavelength is incident as the +/-1-order light into a condenser lens (5) and light of other wavelengths is incident as the 0-order light to the condenser lens (5). The condenser lens (5) condenses the +/-1-order light and the 0-order light at mutually different positions. A selector (6) having an opening and disposed at the condensing position of the +/-1-order light is disposed in front of the condenser lens (5). Therefore, only light having the selected wavelength passes through the selector and becomes outgoing light from a light source apparatus (1).
