<p>The invention relates to a transport vehicle (1) whose chassis (3) bears at least one castor (15) at the front side and two castors (15) at the rear side. Either the at least one front castor (15) or the two rear castors (15) can be influenced by a detachable steering device (80). For this purpose, these castors (15) have a latch mechanism (70) which is equipped with a latching component (71). The latch mechanisms (70) react to the changing running direction of the castors (15), each latching component (71) then engaging releasably in a catch (40, 49, 50, 60) assigned to it when the wheels (18) of the castors (15) move in the displacement direction of the transport vehicle (1).
