The invention relates to a working head for a portable device for bordering plates, panels or the like by means of a heat-sensitive adhesive tape which is to be applied to the edge of the plate, the device having an electrically operated heater blower with a mounting and the working head having a roller for applying the tape to the edge, and an actuating handle, having two parallel upright members, between which at least one axial region of the roller is located, having a device for adjusting the distance between the members by changing this axial part, having a pressure surface on each member in such a way that the latter are situated parallel opposite one another and at a short distance from the roller and can be moved individually relative to the member, so that the distance between the pressure surfaces is equal to or less than the dimension of the axial region, and further having a device for receiving the heater blower, one of the members being equipped with spring elements which lay the corresponding pressure surface firmly against one of the flanks of the edge to be covered.
