The optical light shaping beam homogeniser (LSBH) microlens plate is formed with a multitude of concave lenses by lithography or etching processes. A laser beam projected through the plate and a convex lens is able to profile an excising operation, for example on the cornea of an eye. The microlens formation is generated by lithography or etching and consists of a variety of diameters (D) and separation (T) according, for example, to a Gaussian distribution.
