Procedure for cooling ground surface layers or coverings

Granulates (2) of frozen particles, which may be dry ice (CO2), are laid flat on the surface layer or covering (1). The surface cooling power is regulated by the temperature, particle size and/or layer thickness of granulates. The granulates are fed by a dosing device (4) with a constant and/or predetermined layer thickness. The granulates can be pellets with an average diameter of 1 to 25 millimetres, and preferably 3 to 15 millimetres.
