Control valve for lubricating oil circuit of internal combustion engine

The control valve is fitted in the lubricating oil circuit along with an oil pump. The valve is acted on by oil pressure pressing its piston against a spring in the valve cylinder. The piston (1") has at least one control aperture (4") in it, acting with a control line to the valve cylinder. The cross section of this aperture in the closure region after a control action has a closure cross section which is different from the preceding opening cross section. The closure cross section may be built out to the control aperture by an auxiliary closure aperture.
