Rubber-polyester composites for tyres

Multi component rubber polyester composites comprise in adherent contact a rubber, a linear polyester derived from an aromatic diacid and an alkylene glycol and an unsaturated acid or isocyanate terminated polyester of formula wherein Z represents the residue of the reaction product of a diisocyanate or unsaturated acid with a hydroxy terminated polyester, R is an arylene group, x is an integer greater than 5 and n is an integer from 2 to 10. Reinforced rubber composites having a rubber matrix incorporating a bicomponent fibre having a linear polyester core and a terminated polyester sheath, the polyesters being as above, are also described and claimed as are the bicomponent fibres per se and some isocyanate terminated polyesters.
