The load switch and an earthing switch are operated manually or motor-driven by respective shafts (19,20). The shaft (20) of the earthing switch carries a cam (21) co-operating with a vertically movable slider (14) on the front wall of the switchgear. The slider has an opening (23) co-operating with a bolt (22) fixed to the door (13). When the earthing switch is open the cam maintains the slider in the "Door Closed" position by means of the bolt, preventing the door from being raised or lowered.
