摘要 Prodn. comprising reaction of ethylene oxide with HCl in a two-stage reactor is characterised in that reaction is conducted in milieu of liq. ethylene chlorohydrin with HCl excess 10-40 mole% in first stage and neutralisation of excess HCl by ethylene oxide in second stage of the reactor. HCl excess in ethylene chlorohydrin in both reactor stages, is controlled by functional relation of conductivity of reaction milieu on HCl concn. at given temp. First stage is conducted at 20-60 deg.C whereby HCl excess makes it possible to reach selectivity of 90-100%. In second stage, reaction is conducted at 10-30 deg.C. Off-gas from first stage is led into bottom part of absorber placed above first reactor stage and countercurrently, it is scrubbed by raw neutralised ethylene chlorohydrin from second reactor stage which is cooled down to 10 to -20 deg.C. Offgas from second reactor stage is led to bottom part of other absorber and countercurrently it is scrubbed by raw ethylene chlorohydrin satd. by HCl which passes away over overfall from first stage. Pure 98-99% ethylene chlorohydrin is taken away as distillate from rectification column head and boiler temp. is kept under 110 deg.C. Glass, PTFE and polyolefins are used to make the appts.
