Surface aerator for settlement tanks comprising horizontal composite of hollow sections

A new surface aerator for settlement tanks comprises a horizontally-extending composite of hollow sections (2) which form the boom. These are perforated to release air bubbles, the hollow sections being designed for the supply of compressed air. The boom (1) extends above the base surface of the clarification tank (10), over the section to be aerated. It is lifted from the tank or lowered into it by a hoist. In an original feature, the boom is connected by a joint (3) to the vertical guide section (4) and can be swung up vertically through 90 deg . The joint linked to the boom can travel on the guide section, up and out of the tank.
