<p>Motion detection circuit for detecting motion in a picture represented by video signals comprising: frame memory means (3a, 3b) for delaying an input video signal by one frame, frame difference generation means (8) for providing a frame difference signal based on an input video signal and a video signal provided by said frame memory means (3a, 3b), line difference generation means (9, 10) for providing a line difference signal based on at least two adjacent lines of a field of an input video signal, look-up table means (11) for storing motion values indicative of different amounts of motion in a picture represented by video signals, wherein said look-up table means (11) is addressed by a combination of signals output by said line difference generation means and said frame difference generation means for providing as an output selected ones of said stored motion values in accordance with motion contained in the picture represented by said video signals. <IMAGE></p> |
