The device has a main waveguide and a branching waveguide. The branching waveguide is connected to the main waveguide via a coupling aperture. The frequency limit of the branching waveguide corresponds to its length in the longitudinal direction. A first and second electromagnetic waves, with different frequencies, are separated by the main waveguide and the branching waveguide. The branching waveguide has a coil section or an E-shaped bracket section which is wound about the main waveguide. In an alternative embodiment, first and second waves, with different planes of polarisation, are separated by the waveguides. The branching waveguide then has an E-shaped section wound about the main waveguide, in a plane parallel to the plane which is perpendicular to the polarisation plane of the first or second wave.
