Automatically providing switch=over service for incoming call in automatic answering telephone

The method involves registering a telephone number of a desired call using an external telephone in an automatic answering telephone. The method first recognises reception of an external ring. When this is detected an automatic answer message is transmitted and a guide message for selecting different operating modes is generated when a remote control operation mode is to be input during transmission of the answer message. The method then involves determining whether the generated operating mode selection message is a switch-over mode for the incoming call or not. If so, a telephone number of a desired incoming call is input and registered. The incoming call is then switched-over by automatic selection of a code which corresponds to a switch-over service for an incoming call.
