A vehicle centre console including a supporting structure in the form of a box providing reinforcement against side impact and formed with four side walls 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b and a bottom wall 1. The supporting structure may be releasably fastened, eg by bolting, to the vehicle via the bottom wall and the side wall may be strengthened by longitudinal flanges 5, 6, which flanges may also form air ducts 7a, 7b for rear passengers when combined with an outer sheath 8 of the console. A nozzle(9 figure 2) for the rear passenger air ducts may be provided on the rear of the supporting structure together with a compartment. A pivotable cover (11 figure 2) for the box may be provided. At least one of the air ducts may be connected with the interior of the box. The walls of the box may be welded sheet metal or die cast.
