The connector is in the form of links (8) housed in the compartments of an insulated terminal box which grip the fixed contact system provided on the end of each flat busbar (2). The link consisting of two contact halves (13a,13b) which can move relative to one another the first being held firmly in contact with the contact system (5a) of one set of busbars to be connected and the second forming a sliding contact with the contact system (5b) of the second set of bars. The second contact half is held firmly in contact with the contact system of the second set of busbars to be connected and the first forms a sliding contact with the other set of bars.
