To construct a section of wall, the studs are seated perpendicular to a track at either 16-inch or 24-inch so that an indentation in the side of the track fits precisely into the corresponding indentation in the side of the stud. If the studs are placed at 16-inch intervals, every third stud will have a corresponding indentation from the track on each side, whereas the others will have only one side with an indentation from the track. The studs cannot slide out of position because of the match-up of the indentations, and another track will extend across the tops of the studs with exactly the same match-up of indentations, so the only studs that need be screwed to the tracks are the end studs of the section. Self-tapping screws would be used. The two features of Easy Stud that make the construction easier, faster and more precise are the indentations requiring no preliminary measuring or marking and the fact that only the end studs need be fastened by screws. It should be noted, however, that the basic form and function of this invention may be varied or modified so that the application and use of Easy Stud could be broader than originally envisioned.
