In the vehicle that power of a battery is applied to a starting motor for an engine to be operated when a key rotor(16) of an ignition switch(10) is rotated toward a position of a 'ST' terminal(34D) by a starting key, the device for preventing the starting motor from being driven under a state of an engine's operation comprises a starting-motor driving preventing member(38) for operating so that the key rotor(16) of the ignition switch(10) is not rotated in the midst of an operation of the engine, wherein the starting-motor driving preventing member(38) is constructed by a solenoid having an ending part(38A) operating so as to prevent its rotation executed towards the 'ST' terminal(34D) side of the key rotor(16) according to the number of the rotation of the engine or generation voltage of the generator, whereby preventing a repeated driving of a starting motor in the midst of an engine's operation, and simultaneously, alarming an operational state of the engine by driving an alarm device so as to improve a starting efficiency.
