The cork (10) is a hollow cylinder (14) with a base (16), and a core (18) containing a helical seat (22) for a cork screw helix (26). The seat is connected to the cylinder via radial webs. The cork screw is turnably fitted into the seat. A cork screw handle (28) extends across the neck (12) of the bottle. The hollow cylinder has an elastic sealing lip (34) at the top edge, which extends at right angles to the bottle neck. The cork screw handle has a length, which corresponds to the diameter of the sealing lip.
