摘要 Two components of glass are assembled with their surfaces together and are welded under pressure of 1-100 N/mm<2> , with one of the components held in position while the other is subjected to ultrasonic oscillation at 20 - 150 kHz, with an amplitude of > 5 and < 40 mu for a period of > 0.05 seconds and < 10 seconds. The glass components may be coated. Preferably, the components are preheated to a temperature of /-100 deg C up to as maximum of softening temperature or 2/3 of the absolute melting temperature. Temperature, welding time or welding energy may be monitored during the welding process to determine completion of welding.
