<p>A height adjuster (2) adapted for attachment to an appliance, e.g. a cooker, for adjusting the height thereof from a supporting floor, which is capable of adjustment from a remote position and which comprises at least one angularly-movable, floor-engageable support member (5,6) adapted to turn in use relative to the appliance about a horizontal axis and, operatively connected to the support member (5,6), adjustment means (9) having a control (13) remote from the support member (5,6) whereby the adjustment means (9) is operable to cause angular movement of the support member (5,6) which adjusts the height of the appliance. The adjustment means may comprise a rod (9) which extends between the support member and the control, and is rotatably and/or linearly movable by the control to cause angular movement of the support member. The support member may comprise one or more arms (5,6) pivoted at one end for angular movement, and carrying one or more floor engaging rollers (8) or wheels at an opposite end.</p> |
