New elastomeric film (I) comprises a dispersed phase containing at least one active chemical ingredient (II). The dispersed phase is a temperature-dependent reversible or non-reversible gel phase loaded with an active chemical. Also claimed is a method of preparing (I), comprising: (a) the preparation of a dispersed gel phase by: (i) preparing a phase A by dissolving the elastomer in an organic solvent, (ii) preparing a phase B (the gel), and (iii) dispersing phase B in phase A; and (b) the evaporation of the organic solvent. Step (a) (iii) is carried out either by: - preparing phase B by adding (II) to a solvent (III), mixing this solution with a polymer (IV), and dispersing phase B in phase A at a temperature exceeding the liquid/gel transition temperature (Ttrans); or - by preparing phase B by adding (II) to (III) and mixing with (IV), dispersing this phase B in phase A, and adding a cross-linker (V). Also claimed is the dispersion used in the preparation of (I) and the method of preparing this dispersion according to step (a) above. Preferably the elastomer is polybutadiene, polyisoprene, SBR, NBR, SBS, SIS or SEBS. (I) contains 20-95 weight % of the elastomer and 5-80 weight % of the gel. |
