PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve printing image quality by improving a cutting sharpness of a reception layer at a boundary of a transfer part and a non-transfer part of the reception layer and transferring the reception layer surely to a transfer area. SOLUTION: This printer is constituted of a CPU 1 as a control circuit, an image-processing circuit 2 and a thermal head 3. The image-processing circuit 2 consists of a line memory 4 for storing image data sent from an external memory circuit, an address control circuit 5 for controlling addresses when the image data are stored, and a gradation-processing circuit 6 for controlling the generating amount of heat of the thermal head 3.
