PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the silencing effect even when an air flow velocity is high and to reduce the air flowing resistance by providing an air flow inlet at the one side of the front and rear wall of a silencer body and an air flow outlet at the other side, and opening the inlet and outlet along any in the upper and lower and right and left sidewalls of the body. SOLUTION: An air flow inlet 7a is provided at the one side of opposed front and rear wall surfaces 2a, 2b of a box-shaped silencer body 1, and an air flow outlet 7b is provided at the other, and the inlet and outlet are opened along any of the upper and lower and right and left sidewalls of the body 1. As a result, the air flow introduced from the inlet 7a into the body 1 is enlarged in the sectional area of the flow into the wide space abruptly at the time of introducing, and its noise energy is expanded to be attenuated. Thereafter, it is interfered to be attenuated along any of the upper and lower, and right and left inner walls 4a, 4b and 3a, 3b and silenced. Since no air flow barrier is in the body 1, the flowing resistance is reduced. |
