INK SET FOR REDUCING BLOTTING ON PRINT AND METHOD THEREFOR

An ink set for alleviating bleed in multicolour printed elements comprises a first ink and a second ink of the same ionic character, each ink having an aq. carrier medium and a colourant, the colourant of the first ink is a pigment dispersion and the second ink contains a salt of an organic acid or mineral acid having a solubility of /- 10 pts. in 100 pts. of water at 25 deg C., the salt being present in an amt. effective to alleviate bleed between the first and second inks during printing. Also claimed is a process for creating a multicolour printed element having reduced colour bleed comprising applying the first ink and the second ink in contact with each other on a substrate.
