RECLAIMED POLYMER HAVING THERMODYNAMICALLY METASTABLE STRUCTURE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclaimed polymer having a thermodynamically metastable structure, which a good-quality one free from an oily low-molecular- weight product and capable of being stored for a long time and to provide a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This process for producing a reclaimed polymer 16 having a thermodynamically metastable structure comprises heat-decomposing a polymeric material 8 being a starting material in a closed space in a vacuum to form a vapor and solidifying this vapor. In this process, the specified high-molecular- weight polymeric material 8 is heat-decomposed to form a vapor, this vapor is condensed into a reclaimed polymer 16 in a heat treatment zone 4, and the vapor remaining uncondensed is condensed into an oily low-molecular-weight product, whereby the reclaimed polymer 16 not contaminated with the oily low-molecular-weight product can be obtained.
