The die has two feed channels (5a,5b) and two distribution channels (6a,6b) with constriction zones (1a,1b), an intermediate plate (8) with a pointed tip (8a), a joint flow zone (7), and upper and lower output lips (2a,2b) with regulators (3). The two output lips are in the form of Superflex lips with vanes (9) and a steel strip (10), and the intermediate plate ends in a symmetrical or asymmetrical tip (8a), and it can have an inner cavity. The die is designed for extruding strips of synthetic materials in two layers of 0.5-50mm thick and 100-3000mm wide. It can be used with virtually all synthetic thermoplastic materials, e.g. grafted acrylonitrile/ABS copolymers, PMMA, polycarbonates, polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyester, polysulphones and polyethersulphones. |
