PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly perform an automatic sorting/baling of a commodity by a method wherein a commodity number is attached on the commodity, and the commodity is stored while the commodity number is being stored in a memory, and the commodity is taken out from the storage place based on the content of a commodity order of each patron, which is stored in a computer. SOLUTION: At a commodity number imparting section 1, a commodity number is imparted to a commodity which is received by a distribution center, in response to the kind of commodity. Then, the commodity is transferred by a conveyor 2, and after the commodity is housed in a tray of an automatic tray feeding device 3, the commodity number is read by an automatic reading device 4, and at the same time, the content is memorized by a computer. Then, the tray containing the commodity is stored in a storage space 8 on a shelf 7. Then, the tray containing the commodity is automatically taken out from the applicable storage space 8 in order, conforming to the content of an order of the commodity for each patron, and is automatically carried to a baling place 11. Then, the commodity being discharged from the tray on an automatic baling line, is placed in a carton which is built up by a carton forming machine 16, and is packaged. |
