PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent heat resistance, light resistance and near infrared absorptive power by incorporating specific compound as a color developable compound in the compound represented by a specific formula as a colorable compound in a thermally colorable layer containing the colorable compound and the color developable compound. SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material that a thermal colorable layer containing a colorless or pale colorable compound and a color developable compound which makes it possible to color the colorable compound at the time of heating is provided on a support, as the colorable compound, compounds of formulae I and II are contained, and as the developable compound, 2,4,- dihydroxy-2'-methoxybenzanilide is contained. In the formula II, X1 , X2 are each hydrogen, a halogen atom or methyl group, Y1 , Y2 are each a 6-0C alkyl group, a 3-0C alkoxy group, tolyl group or cyclohexyl group. Thus, the thermal recording material having excellent heat resistance and light resistance and near infrared absorptive power of a wavelength of 700 to 1500nm is obtained. |
