PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate different articles in a composite image in the space of, for example, newspacer. SOLUTION: In a 1st step, the image is analyzed as to its layout to discriminate text blocks, titles, a photograph, and a chart. In a 2nd step, those elements are combined in groups by successively applying rules regarding their kinds and mutual positions. The image is displayed on a screen and an operator selects articles; and their elements are automatically reconstituted in form that the operator select, and they can be printed on a printer. |
