摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or eliminate the follow-up lag of a motor and an internal- combustion engine at the time of switching the ran mode by idling the internal- combustion engine when the load on the vehicle or the motor is predicted to increase and then making a transition from a first mode for driving the motor to a second mode for driving the internal-combustion engine. SOLUTION: When a start/power mode switch 60 is turned off and the near future load on the vehicle or the motor predicted based on an external signal is sufficiently low, a controller 10 determines a ran mode of the vehicle depending on the demand from driver provided in the form of accelerator opening or brake stepping force, operating states of various auxiliary machines, charged state of various batteries thus controlling an internal-combustion engine 12 and a motor 14. When the near future load on the vehicle or the motor predicted based on an external signal is heavy, the controller 10 decides that the internal-combustion engine 12 must be operated. The internal-combustion engine 12 is then started and a transition is made to idling so that a required output is obtained therefrom.
