HANDY GAS ABSORBING LEAD ACID BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and convenient gas absorbing lead acid battery with the accumulation of hydrogen gas restricted by pasting a pressure sensitive adhesive applied synthetic resin film to an opening in the outside wall of a battery jar for the gas absorbing lead acid battery. SOLUTION: For a gas absorbing lead acid battery, an acid proof non-porous synthetic resin film 12 to which acid proof pressure sensitive adhesive 13 is applied is pasted to an opening 11 in the outside wall of a battery jar 1. The battery jar 1 in a cylindrical shape preferably has a band recess 10 provided in part of the outer periphery of a cylinder, the opening 11 provided in the recess 10, the synthetic resin film 12 arranged in the recess 10 and a protective band spring 14 provided thereon. It is desirable that a protective plate 14 is arranged outside the acid proof synthetic resin film 12 and a groove 15 as a gas passage is provided inside the protective plate 14.
