PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a booklet regardless of a binding form by determining the binding position of paper sheets according to the physical longitudinal and lateral directions of a detected document, a designated paper direction, and a designated binding position. SOLUTION: The paper sheet binding position is determined according to the physical longitudinal and lateral directions of a detected document, a designated paper sheet direction and a designated paper binding position. For example, in the case of 'a longitudinal document' D1 and left binding, printing is performed side by side on a sheet long sideways, and the 8th page and the first page are printed from left to right on the surface of the first paper sheet, the 7th page and the second page from left to right on the back of the first paper sheet, seen through the surface side, the 6th page and the third page from left to right on the surface of the second paper sheet, and the 5th page and the fourth page on the back of the second paper sheet from left to right, seen through the surface side thereof. Thus, copies C1 are created folded with the surface of the first paper sheet on the outside and bound at its fold part to create a booklet B1 . |
