PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain superior electromagnetic transducing characteristics and high reliability by drawing a magnetic recording medium original plate along the length before it is cut into products. SOLUTION: To coat a nonmagnetic base 2 with a constituent layer, a film type base 2 unwound from a payoff roll 1 is coated with respective paints in layers in a wet-on-wet method with extrusion type extruding coaters 8 and 9, and then passed between magnets for orientation or magnets 3 for oblique orientation and guided into a drier 4, where hot air is blown from an upper and a lower nozzle to dry the film. Then, the base 2 with the dried coating layers is guided to supercalender device 5 consisting of a combination of calender rolls 6 to perform a calender treatment, and then the base is wound around a take-up roll 7. This obtained magnetic film is cut into tapes of desired width to manufacture magnetic recording tapes for, for example, an 8mm video camera. |
