PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a discharge lamp supporting/fixing structure which protects a discharge lamp mounted on a printed circuit board against distortion or mechanical vibration of the circuit board. SOLUTION: A lamp unit concerned is structured so that a cold cathode discharge lamp 12 is electrically and mechanically fixed and connected through leads 16, 17 with/to a printed circuit board 11 on which a device 13 with lighting circuit of high frequency and high voltage and others are mounted. The leads 16, 17 are furnished with folded curved parts 18 and 19, respectively, and the curving direction of the curved part 18 of the lead 16 fixed to and connected with an electrode base metal 14 formed at one end of the discharge lamp 12 is made identical to the longitudinal direction of the lamp 12 while that of the part 19 of the other lead 17 fixed to and connected with another electrode base metal 15 formed at the other end of the lamp 12 is arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the lamp 12 so that a buffer mechanism is established. |
