The instrument (4) has a tripod stand (5) and a central column (14). The column has a central rod and two concentric tubes. The rod and the outer tube are stationary. The lower cymbal (1) is fixed to the outer tube. The intermediate plate (2) is fixed to the top of the inner tube. The upper cymbal (3) is fixed to the central rod by a screw clamp (19). The pedal (7) is hinged to the bottom of the pedal housing (6). At its upper end the pedal is attached to the inner tube and pedal return springs (8a,8b) by a hinged clip (11). When the pedal is depressed, the intermediate plate hits the lower cymbal. When it is released the plate hits the upper cymbal.
