PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve transmission of control information at a required minimum and to minimize deterioration in voice quality or speech quality to the utmost in the case of inserting the control information to a voice channel and transmitting the resulting channel. SOLUTION: Control information to be sent to a base station is given from a system control section 30 to buffers 26, 27 in a cellular radio telephone set. A transmission validity is added to the control information. A voice detection section 28 detects a voice channel while identifying a voiced period and a silence period of the voice channel. A transmission control section 29 sends the control information to the voice channel from the buffers 26, 27 regardless of the voiced period or the silence period when the buffers 26, 27 are fully occupied. When the control information whose transmission validity is close to expiration is in existence, the control information is sent to the voice channel regardless of the voiced period or the silence period. In other cases, the control information is sent to the voice channel from the buffers 26, 27 for the silence period only. |
