摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a triangulation type range finder which can measure the distance to a target even when its optical system is contaminated. SOLUTION: First and second picture element groups 3 and 5 are respectively provided at the focal points of first and second lenses 1 and lens 2. The light from an object to be measured forms images at the groups 3 and 5 after passing through the lenses 1 and 2. The picture signals of the images are respectively outputted to a computer 10 from first and second signal outputting sections 4 and 6. The computer 10 is provided with a correcting section 7 and a distance computing section 8. The correcting section 7 corrects the second picture signals from the section 6 so that data distribution of the signals can become similar to that of the first picture signals based on the first picture signals from the section 4. The section 8 computes the correlation between the first and second picture signals by shitting the corrected second picture signals toward the first picture signals. Then the section 8 calculates the distance to an object to be measured based on the principle of triangulation by using the shifting amount of the second picture signals when the correlation becomes the maximum as a parallax. Therefore, the distance can be measured accurately from the correlation even when the lenses are contaminated.
