PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long service life-high initial performance sealed lead-acid battery which can restrain necessary interfacial discharge even when deep discharge is repeated and can restrain a resistance increase between active materials by adding electron conductive carbon fiber whose elongation has a prescribed value into a positive electrode active material. SOLUTION: Electron conductive carbon fiber whose elongation until it is ruptured is not less than 1.0% is added into a positive electrode active material. This carbon fiber electron-conductively connects mutual active material particles and the active material particles and a grid body to each other, and a PbSO4 layer is restrained from being formed on an interface between the positive electrode active material and the grid body, and capacity reduction by reduction in binding force between active materials is also restrained. Since elongation is high, the carbon fiber is not cut and pulverized at pasting process time. Therefore, a long service life-high initial characteristic sealed lead acid battery which can restrain interfacial discharge even when deep discharge is repeated and can restrain a resistance increase between the active materials, can be formed. |
