PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a burner without interrupting the operation of a heating furnace by providing a closing means for preventing the entry of combustion exhaust gas at a position nearer to a furnace main body than to a position where a regenerative member is installed in the gas passage of a regenerative combustion burner SOLUTION: A closing means 1 comprising a cover 2 made of a fire resistant material for closing a gas passage 23 and a guide bar 3 made of a heat resistant metal material for moving the cover 2 forward and backward is arranged to close a gas passage 23 at a horizontal position near the combustion air burst out part of the gas passage 23 so that a burner can be repaired even during the operation of a furnace 22 at the time of failure of a regenerative member 24. When the abnormality of the regenerative member 24 is generated, gas in the furnace is prevented from entering the gas passage 23 by the closing means 1 and a regenerative member changing cover 5 is removed so that the regenerative heat energy of the regenerative member 24 is diffused. Then, when the repair of the regenerative member 24 is completed, the member 24 is immediately covered with the regenerative member changing cover 5, and the guide bar 3 is pulled out so that the regenerative member 24 is reset so as to be operated in a regenerative combustion burner 21. |
