When the abnormality of the regenerative member 24 is generated, gas in the furnace is prevented from entering the gas passage 23 by the closing means 1 and a regenerative member changing cover 5 is removed so that the regenerative heat energy of the regenerative member 24 is diffused. Then, when the repair of the regenerative member 24 is completed, the member 24 is immediately covered with the regenerative member changing cover 5, and the guide bar 3 is pulled out so that the regenerative member 24 is reset so as to be operated in a regenerative combustion burner 21.
