PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flat electrolytic capacitor free from the possibility of evaporation and leakage of electrolyte, by flattening a cylindrical electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: When a cylindrical electrolytic capacitor A is pressed from the direction rectangular to the axial line, and a flat electrolytic capacitor B having a specified major axis dimension and a specified minor axis dimension is obtained, cavities which are mutually combined and conform to the form of the flat electrolytic capacitor B are formed, and a metal mold 20 containing a lower metal mold 21 and an upper metal mold 22 which can be divided into two parts along the major axis of the flat type electrolytic capacitor B is prepared. When the cylindrical electrolytic capacitor A is flattened to the minor axis dimension of the flat electrolytic capacitor B, in the state that the short sides are free, the dimension of the major axis is P. The dimension of the major axis in the cavities is set as Pa shorter than P. The cylindrical electrolytic capacitor A is pressed in both metal molds, from the direction rectangular to the axial line. Thereby a flat electrolytic capacitor B whose major axis dimension is regulated as Pa is obtained. |
