<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the communication quality in every application and also to transfer data between the different subnets without using a router. SOLUTION: When the received data are transferred to an ATM terminating device 4, an ATM connection is decided for transfer of the data based on a set including the destination MAC(multi plied analog component) address, the Ethertype and the destination IP subnet. When the destination MAC address of the received data is coincident with the MAC address of a network server, the former MAC address is replaced with a MAC address corresponding to the destination IP address of the received data. Based on this new MAC address, a transfer destination terminating device is decided for the received data.</p> |
